Testresults
The results are in! During the spring of 2010 Onings used its greenhouse again to plant all purchased lots of crop 2008 to determine their quality and to see the results of the new varieties. This year the trial has been done with 578 different cultivars and 3202 different lots.
The system of the trial remained unchanged. Like previous years, samples of 30 bulbs of all received lots were taken and planted in the soil of our greenhouse. During the growth we kept normal growing circumstances. All this to create a realistic image of the quality of every lot and to maintain the relevancy of the end results. Also the lots of the same cultivar and bulb size could be compared with each other.
Of course the results were partially influenced by the Dutch weather circumstances during the cultivation. The climate on the planting date, the temperature and the amount of sunlight play a role in developing the amount of buds, the length and in determining the cutting date.
We are proud to offer you this years findings and we hope that through this we can help you. If you have questions about the test results, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be glad to be at your service.
